Facebook Introduces Verified Badges for Local Business Pages

Facebook has started rolling out "verified pages." The badges that the verified pages carry will show visitors to your page that your page is legit and monitored by the business. Facebook also says that verified pages will rank higher in search results than unverified pages.

I recommend you update your Facebook page with this new feature. This feature is rolling out which means it may not be available to everyone at once. If you do not see this availability today, check back.

Cyberbullying Is Not A Back-to-School Issue

Traditionally we have thought of bullying as a school issue. Kids can be brutal. We should know - we were all kids once and were either the victim, bully or bystander. One thing many of us learned as we grew older though is that bullies exist everywhere. Those bullies aren’t limited to school and childhood. 6 Mistakes To Avoid on Facebook

Okay - I know every business is not making these mistakes but because I am on Facebook about 98% of the time I am awake, I do see these mistakes a lot.  I see them enough that I was inspired to write this blog and even had to scale it back some or it would be tl;dr.  If you are playing by Facebook rules I applaud you.  If you aren't or are not sure, please take a few minutes to learn some of the rules and etiquette of Facebook posting for business.

Facebook Changes its Page Design

Facebook is rolling out changes for business pages starting today. The view for visitors to your page is much cleaner and easier to navigate.  In the last change, Facebook created two columns for content.  Now, they have reverted back to a single column for content on the right side, and the left, smaller column is now information dedicated to the business itself; maps, contact information and hours of operation. Business Insights no longer dominate the top fold of the page and are minimized along the top and right side of the page.
